Botan first comes into the series greeting Yusuke Urameshi into the lifestyle of death. She was the one to inform him he wasn't meant to be dead yet, and he could have another chance at life. When Yusuke is assigned as a Reikai detective, it's Botan job to make sure he's prepared for the tough lifestyle. She is somewhat of his guardian by setting him into the right direction. She also gives Yusuke the missions he has to do.

Besides working with Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara, she is a Ferry Girl. A diety of death, or a Grim Reaper. She is the one Koenma Daioh calls for most of the time.

Botan has always been a cheerful girl, and when things look bad she encouraged the group to fight on. She cares very deeply for her friends, and tries to be of help in anyway possible. When things get tough, she wants to be there, but it usually stuck somewhere else.

Weaponry, items, and attacks
Wooden Oar :: Each of the one hundred ferry girls use this for riding, but has any of them kicked major butt with it? I presume only Botan. :D Whenever she's in a tight spot, and the Reikai Tanteis are busy, she trys her best to fight with whatever she has. Most of the time, that's her oar. Broom :: When Botan was rescuing Keiko from the bug infested school-mates, they both tricked them by hiding behind the curtains. They emerged with brooms, and beat Keiko's teacher with them. After the brooms broke, they ran.

Metal Bat :: When Botan was in an alley way, trying to kill as many demonic bugs as possible, she knocked Ningens unconsious with the bat so the bugs would leave the body. The bat was ditched afterwards.

Bug Spray :: After Botan knocked the Ningens unconsious, the bugs would depart the body. That's where Botan sprays them with the bug spray. It worked for a while, and then Botan ditched that.

Fire extinguisher :: When Keiko and Botan hit a dead end, Keiko distracted the controlled Ningens while Botan ripped a fire extinguisher from the wall and blasted them off of Keiko. Then they threw it away.

Pocket Communicators :: Botan first reveals them to Yusuke, so she could contact him where ever he would be by audio and video.

Demon Compass :: Botan uses this to locate Yusuke the first time he fought with Gouki.

Spiritual Peering Lens :: Botan gives this to Yusuke when he first starts out as a Reikai. It has the ability to look through things. Yusuke uses it to look through Botan's kimono chest, and paid dearly for it with a slap.
